Deputy Manager – Technical Service (Personal Care)

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Technical Service will act as the primary technical interface between BASF and its personal‑care customers. You will translate customer needs into actionable R&D projects, drive service delivery, and build long‑term loyalty through innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as gatekeeper for all R&D and technical exchanges, developing lab‑scale solutions and presenting proposals tailored to customer requirements.
• Support implementation at customer sites through trials, formulation guidance, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and execute proactive technical service strategies, identifying innovation opportunities and managing joint development projects.
• Influence key decision‑makers across customer organisations and BASF to advance technical and commercial goals.
• Enhance sales and distributor technical capability through training, coaching, and joint visits.
• Ensure all activities comply with BASF’s EHS standards and relevant regulatory guidelines.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science or a related discipline.
• 8‑12 years of experience in technical service, formulation development, or application support within the personal‑care sector.
• Strong understanding of personal‑care ingredient classes and market value chains.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and project‑management abilities.
