Deputy Manager – Payments & Merchant Acquiring

About the role

Bajaj Finance Ltd. is expanding its QR acquiring business in India. The Deputy Manager – Payments & Merchant Acquiring will build the QR acquiring operation from the ground up in a defined territory, recruit and lead a field team, and drive merchant onboarding, QR and POS deployment, and transaction growth.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and motivate Field Operations Staff (FOS) to achieve productivity targets.
• Acquire new merchants and lead QR, SB and POS/EDC deployment initiatives.
• Develop distribution channels, manage relationships with key decision‑makers and ensure proper coverage through FOS mapping.
• Drive sales numbers, retailer payment reconciliation and store activation activities.
• Collaborate with partners on sales promotions and maintain process rigor and controllership.

Required profile

• Graduation or MBA with 2‑4 years of relevant experience.
• Prior exposure to Payments, FMCG or Telecom prepaid sales is mandatory.
• Experience handling merchant relationships and distribution responsibilities in consumer durables, digital or LSF roles is preferred.
• Strong communication, high energy, self‑starter attitude and willingness to work in the field.
