Deputy Director – MEP (Infrastructure Projects)

About the role

We are looking for a Deputy Director – MEP to lead mechanical, electrical and public health engineering design for large‑scale infrastructure projects in Mumbai. The role combines technical leadership, project delivery oversight and business development support within Surbana Jurong’s Global Delivery Center and domestic portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage MEP design and coordination for complex infrastructure programmes including buildings, hospitals, data centres, hospitality, commercial and residential projects.
• Oversee project delivery across Global Delivery Center (GDC) and domestic project portfolios, ensuring compliance with international standards, local codes and client specifications.
• Review design deliverables, calculations, technical reports and drawings, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants and stakeholders.
• Support business development by contributing to proposals and managing profit‑and‑loss (P&L) responsibilities.
• Plan resources, assure quality, mitigate risks and mentor MEP teams to meet timelines and performance targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 15+ years of experience in MEP design and project management for infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in both Global Delivery Center and domestic project environments.
• Strong knowledge of international design standards, BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience in transportation, aviation, metro, highways, water or related major infrastructure sectors.
• Excellent leadership, client management, communication and presentation abilities.
