Deli Assistant

About the role

The Deli Assistant works on the fresh‑food counter, preparing high‑quality hot and cold deli items while ensuring every customer leaves satisfied. This full‑time, on‑site position is based at our Monread Road store and supports the Centra brand values of pride, energy, imagination and community.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble sandwiches, rolls, hot dishes and sliced meats following portion‑control standards.
• Cook, heat and display deli products throughout the day, maintaining hygiene and presentation standards.
• Keep all fresh‑food counters clean, well‑stocked and visually appealing.
• Share product knowledge, recipes and personal recommendations with shoppers.
• Handle customer enquiries and issues promptly and professionally, in line with store policy.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a fast‑paced team, multitask under pressure and inspire shoppers.
• Passion for food and willingness to learn.
• Previous retail or customer‑service experience is an advantage.
• HACCP training is desirable but not mandatory.
