Data Scientist – Seller Fee Science

About the role

The Seller Fee Science team combines economic modeling, machine learning and AI to shape Amazon's fee strategy and predict its impact on the marketplace. As a Data Scientist you will apply econometrics, statistical analysis and large‑scale ML to measure and forecast fee revenue and other P&L elements, influencing decisions that affect millions of sellers.

Key responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous business challenges into well‑defined scientific problems with measurable impact.
• Identify and develop opportunities to improve fee revenue measurement, prediction and planning.
• Design, build and deploy econometric or AI/ML models that explain the relationship between fees, costs and overall profitability.
• Partner with finance and fee‑strategy teams to formulate questions, communicate results and productionalize solutions.
• Apply rigorous simulation methods to validate models and quantify business impact at scale.
• Communicate scientific innovations clearly to cross‑functional stakeholders and contribute to internal/external scientific communities.
