Data Scientist – Credit Card Analytics

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Data Scientist to join our Bangalore team. You will work on large‑scale datasets to uncover insights that drive credit‑card product strategy, risk management and customer acquisition.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customer behavior, transaction trends and operational performance.
• Provide actionable insights and data‑driven recommendations to senior management.
• Develop business cases for new credit‑card products and marketing initiatives.
• Conduct ad‑hoc analysis, scenario modelling and portfolio optimisation.
• Collaborate with risk, marketing, finance and operations teams to align data, models and strategies.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency for analytics and reporting.
• Partner with IT to improve data infrastructure and governance.
• Automate analytical processes for scalable solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science).
• 2‑5 years of experience in data science or analytics.
• Strong quantitative and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex insights to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, team‑oriented environments.

Required skills

• Python, PySpark, SAS, SQL.
• Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Power BI for data visualisation.
• Machine‑learning models: XGBoost, LightGBM, Random Forest, SVM.
• Statistical analysis, feature engineering, dimensionality reduction and clustering techniques.
