Senior Software Engineer – Platforms Team

About the role

Forward is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join its Platforms team in Bangalore. You will design, develop and scale core backend services that power both SaaS and on‑premise deployments, directly influencing platform stability and performance for global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement storage, job‑scheduling, data‑ingestion and monitoring frameworks to ensure high availability.
• Build and maintain backend components that enable essential platform features.
• Develop scalable, high‑performance services capable of handling complex, high‑traffic workloads.
• Enhance monitoring and logging systems to provide deep visibility into system health.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across the US and India offices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; MS or PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of full‑lifecycle software development experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Java (version 17 or later) and Spring framework.
• Object‑oriented design and development.
• Containerization technologies and Kubernetes.
• Experience with C++ or similar languages.
• REST API development, Hibernate, Big Data and NoSQL technologies (nice‑to‑have).
