Data Engineer – Reverse Logistics Platform

About the role

The Data Engineer will own the data infrastructure for the Reverse Logistics team, collaborating with software development teams to build and maintain a highly scalable, reliable, and efficient data system that supports Amazon's fast‑growing returns business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and support massively scalable distributed data warehousing, querying, and reporting solutions.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines, data models, and data‑warehouse structures.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries on large‑scale datasets.
• Partner with internal customers to provide data‑driven answers to critical business questions.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate data solutions into production systems.

Required profile

• 2+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency in one or more query languages (SQL, PL/SQL, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
• Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or KornShell.
• Knowledge of AWS infrastructure and ability to optimize SQL queries on large, complex datasets.
• Strong project‑management skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
