Data Engineer – Design & Build Scalable Data Pipelines

About the role

As a Data Engineer you will design, develop and maintain end‑to‑end data solutions that enable efficient generation, collection and processing of data across the organisation. You will build robust data pipelines, ensure data quality and implement ETL processes that move data reliably between systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows on the Databricks Unified Data Analytics Platform.
• Maintain and optimise existing data solutions to improve performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues and enforce data governance and security best practices.
• Document data processes, workflows and architecture for knowledge sharing.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience working with Databricks.
• 15 years of full‑time education (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree).
• Ability to work independently and become a subject‑matter expert.
• Strong analytical mindset and proactive problem‑solving attitude.

Required skills

• Databricks Unified Data Analytics Platform.
• Design and development of scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of cloud‑based data storage and processing solutions.
• Data quality assurance and governance practices.
