Dairy Farm Manager – Tanzania

About the role

The Dairy Farm Manager will lead the overall management and performance of a large dairy operation in Tanzania. This role ensures high standards of animal health, nutrition, milk production, breeding, calf rearing, and farm profitability while maintaining excellent animal welfare.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily herd management, including milking, breeding, and calf care.
• Implement best practices to maximise milk yield, reproductive performance and herd health.
• Manage feeding programmes, coordinate feed formulation and monitor feed quality.
• Lead proactive herd health initiatives, vaccination, deworming and bio‑security protocols.
• Direct breeding programmes, artificial insemination, heat detection and pregnancy diagnosis.
• Supervise calf‑rearing activities, colostrum management and growth monitoring.
• Control milking operations, ensure hygiene, monitor milk quality and reduce mastitis.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare performance reports and monitor farm budgets.
• Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate farm staff, organise work schedules and promote safety.

Required profile

• Strong leadership with proven experience in dairy farm management.
• Technical expertise in livestock nutrition, health and breeding.
• Ability to manage large dairy herds while upholding animal welfare standards.
• Experience supervising farm personnel and handling farm administration.
