Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

The Cyber Security Engineer will monitor security events, investigate incidents, and respond to threats to ensure timely detection and mitigation of vulnerabilities. This role supports both application and network security, collaborates with engineering and operations teams, and helps maintain a strong security posture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and investigate incidents using SIEM and log analysis platforms.
• Perform security assessments, configuration reviews, and vulnerability scanning.
• Implement security best practices for applications, networks, and cloud environments.
• Maintain security documentation, standards, and compliance artifacts.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to embed security controls into development pipelines.
• Stay current with emerging threats, tools, and frameworks, and share insights with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on incident response.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP) are a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM platforms and endpoint protection solutions.
• Proficiency in using vulnerability scanners and log analysis tools.
• Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network security architectures.
• Understanding of secure coding principles and application‑level vulnerability remediation.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
• Ability to conduct threat identification, risk assessment, and security policy implementation.
