Cooling Engineer – Design & Development (Automotive)

About the role

We are seeking a Cooling Engineer to join our Powertrain team in Chennai. The role focuses on the design and development of cooling system components for automotive applications, delivering CAD models and supporting the full product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop CAD models for cooling commodities such as hoses, degas tanks, radiators, pumps, and valves.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to provide end‑to‑end design solutions.
• Support and lead design reviews, manage design changes, and ensure timely releases for S/T/P stages.
• Maintain commodity release and change management processes, including BOM updates for prototype and production.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in automotive cooling system design.
• Strong understanding of vehicle package guidelines, plastic and sheet‑metal design, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with commodity release, change management, and production BOMs.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CATIA V5 and CATIA V6 (2D/3D).
• Experience with PLM tools, specifically TeamCenter.
• Good knowledge of GD&T.
• Competence with Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
