Consultant – TB Diagnostics (Expand ELEVATE Project)

About the role

PATH is seeking a Consultant to lead TB diagnostic activities under the Expand ELEVATE project. The role supports data‑driven decision‑making and strengthens the TB diagnostic care cascade across state and district levels.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with PATH national team, state TB officers, STDCs, and Intermediate Reference Laboratories to plan and implement diagnostic interventions.
• Provide technical oversight to identify gaps in the TB diagnostic cascade, using funnel analytics and disaggregated data to detect delays and under‑performing areas.
• Generate actionable recommendations for state TB programs based on cascade analyses and support follow‑up implementation.
• Build capacity of STDC and IRL staff in diagnostic data analysis and effective use of the Diagnostic Dashboard.
• Guide laboratory network optimization across states and districts to improve the diagnostic care cascade.
• Monitor progress and report on project outcomes to the Deputy Director‑TB and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience working with national or state TB programs and familiarity with the national TB diagnostic algorithm.
• Proven ability to work with multi‑disciplinary teams and provide technical guidance.
• Strong analytical mindset for interpreting diagnostic data and identifying system gaps.

Required skills

• Proficiency in funnel analytics and diagnostic cascade analysis.
• Experience using diagnostic dashboards and data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of TB diagnostic algorithms and laboratory network operations.
