Compliance & Legal Counsel

About the role

The Compliance & Legal Counsel will support the Head of Compliance in developing, implementing and monitoring Sirva’s compliance framework. Reporting to the VP and Assistant GC, the role works closely with the Legal & Compliance team and business units across regions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Compliance with regulatory compliance, monitoring laws, sanctions regulations and internal policies.
• Support implementation of regulatory requirements, provide day‑to‑day advice and assist with filings, disclosures and audit responses.
• Draft, review and update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they stay current with regulatory developments.
• Conduct or support investigations into potential breaches, manage whistleblowing reports, maintain investigation logs and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver annual compliance training and promote a strong compliance culture.
• Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Internal Audit and Corporate Governance teams to identify and assess compliance risks.
• Manage compliance operatives in India, overseeing third‑party diligence, sanctions checks and administrative support.
• Provide ad‑hoc support for corporate governance requirements, board and committee operations.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, sanctions laws and corporate governance practices.
• Experience conducting investigations and handling whistleblowing cases.
• Ability to draft and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
• Proven track record of delivering training and promoting compliance awareness.
• Excellent communication skills to advise business stakeholders and work with cross‑functional teams.
