Commis – Restaurant Service Assistant

About the role

The Commis supports the restaurant floor team by welcoming guests, assisting wait staff, and ensuring smooth service operations. This entry‑level position is ideal for candidates with a basic understanding of restaurant procedures and a commitment to hygiene and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests, offering the wine list when appropriate.
• Assist waiters with order taking, table setup, and breakdown for internal and external events.
• Deliver menus, take orders, serve drinks and dishes, and manage the bill process.
• Sanitize cutlery, glassware, and dishes; clean and organize service areas.
• Restock condiments, maintain service logs, and handle linen routing to laundry.
• Wash and arrange wine glasses in the display cabinet.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards, maintain personal presentation, and protect equipment.

Required profile

• Completed elementary education.
• Minimum 3 months of experience in a restaurant or similar hospitality setting.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication, teamwork orientation, and interpersonal skills.
• Completed courses in basic restaurant techniques or a related internship, basic food hygiene and safety, and advanced hygiene.
