Commis I / II – South Indian Kitchen (Full‑time)

About the role

The Commis I / Commis II (South Indian) position at Crowne Plaza Kochi is a full‑time, on‑site role in the hotel’s kitchen. You will work closely with the Chef de Partie to prepare authentic South Indian dishes that meet the brand’s quality standards and serve guests across breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook South Indian menu items following standard recipes.
• Perform mise en place, portioning and plating for service periods.
• Maintain strict hygiene and food‑safety practices throughout the kitchen.
• Assist with inventory control, proper storage of ingredients and stock rotation.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service teams, responding to guest preferences when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the culinary offering.

Required profile

• Strong food preparation and cooking skills, especially in South Indian cuisine.
• Solid culinary knowledge of ingredients, techniques and traditional recipes.
• Commitment to hygiene and food‑safety standards.
• Effective communication for coordination with kitchen and service staff.
• Previous hotel experience in South Indian or regional Indian cuisine preferred.
• Relevant culinary education or professional certification is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, including shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Attention to detail, reliability and willingness to learn brand standards.
