About the role
The Commis I will support the culinary team at JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa by preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and presentation. This full‑time, onsite position offers the opportunity to work in a prestigious hotel environment and develop professional kitchen skills.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, cold foods, and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; pull items from freezer storage and thaw safely.
- Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, garnish, and maintain food logs.
- Monitor food quality and quantity, inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials, and communicate menu specials or out‑of‑stock items to service staff.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching as needed.
- Follow all company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
- Technical or vocational education in culinary arts or related field.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude toward guests and teammates.
