Assistant Manager – Housekeeping

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Housekeeping supports daily operations across housekeeping, recreation/health club, and laundry at The Westin Mumbai. Reporting to senior management, this role ensures guest rooms and public areas are clean, well‑maintained, and meet brand standards while controlling costs.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate room cleaning schedules, check‑outs, and work assignments.
• Maintain inventory of linens, supplies, and equipment; place orders as needed.
• Conduct inspections of guest rooms and public spaces, driving corrective actions.
• Communicate room status promptly to the Front Desk and collaborate with Engineering for maintenance issues.
• Oversee lost‑and‑found procedures and ensure compliance with loss‑prevention policies.
• Supervise housekeeping staff in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
• Monitor budget adherence and manage operating expenses.
• Handle guest complaints, review feedback, and promote exceptional service standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year housekeeping experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and loss‑prevention policies.
• Ability to lead, coach, and provide performance feedback to team members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
