Commis I – Food & Beverage

About the role

The Commis I supports the kitchen team by preparing special meals, managing food inventory, and ensuring high‑quality standards in a fast‑paced hospitality environment. You will work closely with chefs and service staff to deliver consistent, delicious dishes for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, cold foods, and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures; pull and thaw frozen items.
• Maintain food logs, monitor portion sizes, and ensure proper garnish.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and inform chefs of excess or out‑of‑stock items.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching.
• Follow safety, security and uniform policies; report accidents or maintenance issues.
• Perform physical duties such as lifting up to 25 lb, standing for long periods, and reaching overhead.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 3 years of related food‑service experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work in a team, maintain confidentiality and uphold quality standards.
