Cluster Manager – Insurance Business Development

About the role

The Cluster Manager will drive insurance business growth through HDFC relationship and channel partners in the Trichy region. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, managing existing partnerships, and ensuring seamless pre‑ and post‑sale support for Birla Sunlife Insurance products.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve premium and revenue targets by continuously engaging with HDFC branch heads and other decision‑makers.
• Promote and sell a balanced product mix (traditional, ULIP, term) to meet activation and persistency goals.
• Coordinate sales processes, including policy issuance, complaint handling, and compliance with regulatory changes.
• Develop innovative branch activities to increase customer penetration and database activation.
• Provide product and insurance knowledge to channel partners and identify training needs.
• Monitor business performance, report insights to senior management, and suggest new product ideas.

Required profile

• Proven experience in insurance or financial services sales, preferably with bank channel partners.
• Strong understanding of unit‑linked, traditional, and term insurance products.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze market volatility and adapt strategies accordingly.
