Civil Site Inspector – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Site Inspector to oversee the construction of large‑scale water infrastructure projects, including desalination and wastewater treatment plants, at our Chennai site. You will ensure that all civil works meet design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of civil construction activities against approved drawings, method statements and quality standards.
• Inspect excavation, earthworks, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concrete, masonry, waterproofing, structural steel and finishing works.
• Verify construction of desalination plant structures, intake/outfall works, pump houses, reservoirs, tanks, utility buildings, roads and drainage systems.
• Witness field and laboratory tests for concrete, steel, soil and aggregates, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Review Inspection Requests (IRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), flag non‑conformities and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain daily site inspection records, diaries, photographic logs and progress reports.
• Collaborate with QA/QC engineers, contractors, survey teams and design engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements on site.
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging, punch‑listing and handover activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil construction supervision and inspection of large infrastructure projects.
• Experience with desalination plants, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities or marine structures.
• Familiarity with Indian Standards (IS Codes), CPWD specifications, project quality procedures and construction safety requirements.
• Prior experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC), Construction Supervision Consultancy (CSC) or EPC projects is preferred.
