Civil Construction Engineer

About the role

The Civil Construction Engineer will oversee land development and grading activities on refinery or petro‑chemical projects. You will coordinate with surveyors, manage soil testing, and ensure that all civil works are executed according to design specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Study plot plans, prepare layout drawings and supervise field execution.
• Coordinate with surveyors to establish boundaries, initial RL and cutting/filling quantities.
• Arrange soil sampling for OMC and MDD testing and conduct regular compaction tests.
• Monitor resource utilization, report any mobilization issues to superiors.
• Verify contractor daily progress reports and update the project control team.
• Check rebar bending, binding, formwork, scaffolding, handrails and ladder installations.
• Ensure proper compaction, curing, concrete quality testing and cube sampling.
• Inspect surface rendering, fire‑proofing, embedded items and backfilling work.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering with 6‑8 years of relevant experience (or Diploma with 14‑16 years).
• Experience in refinery or petro‑chemical construction projects.
