Certifying Mechanic – Aircraft Maintenance

About the role

The Certifying Mechanic is responsible for all work performed and certified on aircraft within the scope of their authorization. This role ensures compliance with statutory airworthiness regulations and company standards while supporting line‑maintenance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and certify all maintenance and defect rectification tasks on aircraft, including subcontracted work.
• Ensure all statutory regulations and company requirements for airworthiness are met.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of company operating procedures, quality and technical reporting systems.
• Prepare, control, and clear maintenance documentation in accordance with approved procedures before releasing aircraft to service.
• Report any occurrence, incident, significant defect, or un‑airworthy condition to the Shift In‑Charge/AME.
• Follow processes defined in the Line Maintenance Manual relevant to the position.
• Discharge technician functions as required by the station and perform any other duties assigned by superiors.

Required profile

• Authorized to certify aircraft maintenance work.
• Thorough understanding of airworthiness regulations and company maintenance standards.
• Familiarity with line‑maintenance procedures and documentation control.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and report defects promptly.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Line Maintenance Manual processes.
• Experience with aircraft maintenance certification and documentation.
