Cashier – Full-time Branch Banking

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch by handling cash, cheques, drafts, and other instruments while providing courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and forward requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports and ensure vault operations with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑sell opportunities and educate them on new products and alternate channels.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of the day, safeguard cash, keys and valuables.
• Adhere to defined turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.
