Capex Controller - Finance & Accounts

About the role

The Capex Controller will support Enpro’s multi‑year capital investment programme (approximately ₹250 Cr) by overseeing budgeting, tracking, reporting and cost‑control activities. The role works closely with Engineering, Projects and Procurement to ensure disciplined monitoring of budget versus actuals and timely governance of capital expenditures.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a 3‑5‑year Capex master plan, preparing annual and project‑wise budgets, phasing and cash‑flow schedules.
• Track budget, commitments and actual spend (B‑C‑A) on a monthly basis, analysing variances and providing root‑cause explanations.
• Produce monthly Capex MIS dashboards, management presentations and cash‑flow forecasts for senior leadership.
• Support procurement with commercial comparisons, cost‑breakup validation and identification of cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment under CWIP, IAS 16/Ind AS 16, GST/TDS compliance and asset tagging.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation for budget approvals, contracts and project expenses.
• Work in SAP S/4HANA (IM/PS/CO) and maintain trackers in Excel and Power BI, driving digitalisation of reporting formats.
• Coordinate with Projects, Engineering, Finance and Procurement teams and prepare materials for Capex Committee meetings.

Required profile

• CA Inter, CMA Inter, MBA Finance or M.Com; additional certification in project accounting or SAP is a plus.
• 6‑9 years total experience with 3‑5 years in capex budgeting, planning and control.
• Strong knowledge of IAS 16/Ind AS 16, GST/TDS and CWIP accounting.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage large‑scale capital projects.
