CAD Engineer – Exhaust Systems (Automotive)

About the role

We are looking for a CAD Engineer to support the design of exhaust and gas‑path components for powertrain systems. The role involves creating and maintaining 3D models, generating detailed 2D drawings, and ensuring compliance with automotive standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update and maintain 3D CAD models and assemblies for gas‑path system components using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Develop 2D drawings with correct GD&T, tolerances and automotive drawing standards.
• Perform interference checks, clearance analysis and mass‑properties validation.
• Support powertrain and vehicle‑level packaging, interface integration and design reviews.
• Implement engineering changes (ECR/ECO) from KO to SOP and release CAD data via PLM tools.
• Collaborate with module leads, system engineers, manufacturing teams and suppliers.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in automotive CAD design, preferably on exhaust or gas‑path systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Familiarity with commodity release, change management and BOM processes.
• Ability to work on both prototype and production phases.

Required skills

• CATIA V5 and CATIA V6 (3D/2D) proficiency.
• 3DEXPERIENCE platform experience.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint.
