CAD Designer - Substations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced CAD Designer to join Assystem’s Substation and Switchyard team in Gurugram. The role involves creating and maintaining detailed engineering drawings for critical infrastructure projects, supporting the design and construction phases of substations up to 400 kV. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure drawings meet client requirements and industry standards. This position offers the chance to contribute to high‑impact, low‑carbon energy projects within a globally recognised engineering firm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and layouts using CAD tools.
• Develop and update general arrangement (GA) drawings, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Coordinate drawing revisions with engineering teams and incorporate client feedback.
• Apply expertise in Substation and Switchyard projects up to 400 kV.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Substation/Switchyard projects up to 400 kV.
• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards.
