C++ Linux Software Engineer – Technical Lead

About the role

As a Technical Lead at Applied Materials, you will design and implement high‑performance computing software solutions for semiconductor equipment. You will work on low‑latency, high‑throughput image processing and deep‑learning workloads that drive next‑generation chip manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop HPC software components, ensuring scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Profile systems, identify bottlenecks and optimise code, workflows and processes to improve cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into architectural designs.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and act as a subject‑matter expert in the HPC domain.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience designing and coding in C/C++ on Linux.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, IPC and distributed computing.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
