About the role
DataCorp is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead sales activities across the East and North‑East regions of India. The role is highly travel‑intensive, client‑facing, and requires independent relationship building with government bodies and private mobility consultants.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and pursue opportunities with government agencies (PWD, ULBs, Traffic Police, Transport Departments) and private transport consulting firms.
- Develop and maintain a regional network of officials, consultants, and decision‑makers.
- Monitor daily tender portals (Tender Tiger, eProc, GeM) and coordinate proposal preparation with operations, technology, and finance teams.
- Conduct on‑site visits, attend pre‑bid meetings, and follow up on tender progress.
- Negotiate commercial terms, secure contract sign‑offs, and ensure smooth onboarding of new clients.
- Maintain accurate records in Zoho CRM and report weekly/monthly performance via PowerBI dashboards.
Required profile
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with confidence to engage senior government officials.
- Independent, high‑ownership work style and ability to handle push‑back and scope changes.
- Familiarity with the Indian transportation market and willingness to learn traffic studies and transport planning.
