Branch Cashier – Full‑time Banking Role

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, address queries, cross‑sell products and promote use of alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; banking experience preferred.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
• Good communication skills for customer interaction.
• Willingness to work in a branch environment and follow standard operating procedures.
