Branch Cashier (Full-time)

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, maintains registers, and performs daily reconciliations to support smooth branch operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward, petty cash, and assets registers; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reporting, and vault management jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with turnaround times, regulatory requirements, and bank policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; banking or finance background preferred.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to work in a branch environment and adhere to security procedures.
