Director of Banking

About the role

The Director of Banking leads Vinmar Business Services' global banking operations, overseeing relationships with banks, daily banking activities, and payment processing for export documentation. Reporting to the Senior Director – Global Banking in Houston, this hybrid role coordinates across multiple international regions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain bank relationships for Letters of Credit and trade finance instruments.
• Oversee processing, negotiation, and administration of Export LCs, Documentary Collections, Open Account transactions, and related compliance.
• Manage daily export banking activities, payment processing, collections monitoring, and cash projections.
• Ensure compliance with UCP 600, ISBP, international banking regulations, and company policies.
• Mentor and develop internal banking teams in India and Houston, establishing performance metrics and workflows.
• Drive process improvements using AI, automation, and digital tools, and partner with technology teams to enhance banking systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in banking operations, trade finance, and international banking.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing banking teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills with a risk‑management mindset.

Required skills

• Export Letters of Credit (LC) and Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC).
• Export Documentary Collections (CAD, D/P, D/A, NET).
• Open Account transaction handling.
• Knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, ISP98 and related compliance regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
