Branch Cashier – Banking Operations

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations in accordance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate cash handling, daily reconciliation, and provides courteous service to customers at the branch.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, issuing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedule and maintain system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash, and assets registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑sell opportunities, and educate them on new products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling and banking operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate registers.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly.
• Understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
