Biomedical Engineer

About the role

The Biomedical Engineer will ensure that all medical and clinical equipment at Revanta Hospital operates safely, reliably and efficiently. You will be responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance, calibration, and coordination with vendors to minimise equipment downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, install, service, calibrate and troubleshoot a wide range of medical devices.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules for critical and non‑critical equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date inventory and asset register of all biomedical assets.
• Liaise with OEMs, authorized service providers and vendors for AMC/CMC contracts, repairs and component replacement.
• Oversee proper installation, commissioning, testing and hand‑over of new equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify recurring failures and mitigate risks.
• Document preventive maintenance, breakdowns, calibrations, service reports and equipment history.
• Support clinical departments by understanding equipment needs and providing basic user training.
• Assist procurement by preparing technical specifications and evaluating equipment requirements.
• Ensure compliance with hospital safety procedures, regulatory standards and accreditation audits (e.g., NABH).

Required profile

• Diploma or B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering (mandatory).
• 2–3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Familiarity with medical equipment preventive maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with clinical departments is an advantage.
