Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other cash instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans, maintaining accurate system entries.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and update relevant registers.
• Maintain inward/outward, petty‑cash, and assets registers; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, address queries, cross‑sell products, and promote use of alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cash handling or teller operations within a banking environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile cash accurately.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly.
• Knowledge of banking regulations and internal cash‑management procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with branch staff and senior officers.
