Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and provides courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, issuing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain appropriate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash register, assets register and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑sell opportunities and update them on new products and services.
• Provide superior customer service, address queries, and educate customers on alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.

• Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Capability to work collaboratively with branch staff and adhere to compliance standards.
