Aviation Safety Trainer

About the role

The Aviation Safety Trainer is responsible for delivering comprehensive safety training to airport ground staff, ensuring compliance with DGCA and IATA standards. The role supports secure apron operations, terminal activities, and cargo handling through systematic risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety trainings covering Safety Management Systems (SMS), ramp, warehouse, workshop safety, emergency procedures and human factors.
• Instruct personnel on fire‑fighting, spill containment and emergency evacuation specific to ramp, terminal and cargo environments.
• Design, update and maintain training modules, manuals and supporting documents in line with new aviation regulations and industry trends.
• Perform random audits and competency evaluations to ensure alignment with DGCA requirements and support airline/regulatory audits.
• Train staff to proactively identify and report hazards related to ground operations.
• Educate supervisors and managers on risk‑matrix usage, safety performance indicators (SPIs) and safety performance targets (SPTs).
• Maintain accurate training records in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Support additional operational and safety initiatives as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Mandatory DGCA SMS Certificate.
• At least one year as a Safety Manager with a Train‑the‑Trainer course, or five years of technical/operational aviation experience.
• Experience in safety management system implementation, preferably with DGCA CAR Section 1 Series C Part 1 training.
• Strong knowledge of airside safety regulations, policies and procedures.
