Fire Officer

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Fire Officer to join our fire department and respond swiftly to emergencies, protecting lives and property. The role involves operating fire apparatus, conducting rescues, and delivering fire safety education within the community.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide firefighting services.
• Operate and maintain fire apparatus, equipment, and vehicles.
• Conduct inspections of fire equipment and safety systems.
• Perform rescue operations and provide emergency medical assistance.
• Participate in hazardous materials (HAZMAT) response and containment.
• Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation.
• Deliver fire safety education and prevention programs.
• Train and mentor junior firefighters and new personnel.
• Conduct regular drills and training exercises.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety codes, regulations, and departmental policies.
• Perform routine station maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Engage in community outreach and public relations activities.
• Collaborate with other emergency services during multi‑agency incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Firefighter I and II certification (or ability to obtain).
• EMT‑Basic certification or higher.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and medical examination.
• Physical fitness meeting departmental standards.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
