Associate – Loan Setup

About the role

We are looking for a resource with a passion for the mortgage industry to develop and manage client relations under the Altisource umbrella. The Associate – Loan Setup will obtain loan documentation, communicate with stakeholders, and prepare loan files for underwriting.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain mortgage loan documentation by ordering credit reports, land surveys, building appraisals, title work and related information while adhering to internal policies and protecting borrower confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with Loan Officers, Borrowers and other stakeholders to obtain information or clarification about documents in the loan file.
• Identify mortgage loan application and documentation problems, highlight deficiencies and notify the underwriter.
• Prepare mortgage loan files by reviewing applications, clarifying or obtaining additional information and submitting files to underwriting for approval.
• Continuously assess the pipeline and timely request or follow‑up on borrower documentation to ensure the loan meets product and program requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain and decipher Automated Underwriting System (AUS) findings such as Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP).
• Experience in full‑origination mortgage processing, loan set‑up, documentation, closing, title, quality assurance, compliance, underwriting or assisting with conventional first mortgage loan products.
• Experience working with Loan Officers, Borrowers and managing an active pipeline of mortgage loans.
