Associate Director – Interior Design (Architecture)

About the role

The incumbent will independently execute complex interior‑design assignments, translating project scope into deliverable solutions. This senior position demands high autonomy, technical expertise, and accountability for quality, schedule, and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Run multiple interior‑design projects concurrently through delegation and limited supervisory input.
• Translate strategic direction and manage a medium‑sized functional unit/regional account, overseeing operational, financial, and people results.
• Provide technical and people leadership to maintain high‑quality service delivery.
• Engage daily with stakeholders across projects and act as the interface between regional teams and the global AECOM network.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Architecture from a reputable institution; Master’s in interior design is desirable.
• 14+ years of interior‑design and architecture experience, including 8+ years in commercial, retail, hospitality, or workplace design.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction processes, and regional experience on Middle‑East projects.
• Proven ability to coordinate architects, engineers, sub‑consultants, and contractors on medium to large‑scale retail projects.
• Excellent communication skills and an inclusive design mindset.
