Assistant Manager - Purchase

About the role

SEW-EURODRIVE is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Purchase team to support operation departments through direct and indirect procurement. The role requires a proactive and strategic approach to sourcing components, materials, and services while managing vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Handle complete purchase functions for local items, including review and monitoring of pending purchase orders.
• Confirm deliveries with suppliers, perform SAP housekeeping, and delete unwanted purchase requisitions.
• Establish annual and long‑term contracts for regular local purchase and stationery items, controlling purchasing costs.
• Release contracts for office, plant equipment, infrastructure, and employee welfare, and process related invoices.
• Monitor inventory levels, replenish consumables (packing material, oil, grease, paints) based on monthly stock reports and safety stock definitions in SAP.
• Run reorder reports, negotiate with suppliers, and finalize purchase orders according to guidelines.
• Manage project procurement and capital purchases for plant expansion and modification projects.
• Coordinate branch and corporate requests such as hotel bookings, corporate gifts, marketing campaigns, and interior works for new sales branches.
• Prepare documentation and coordinate the shipment of parts, tools, and testing equipment for modifications and repairs.
