Assistant Manager - Mechanical

About the role

ACCIONA Energy India is seeking an Assistant Manager – Mechanical to support the operation and maintenance of its wind farms in Karnataka. The role focuses on ensuring safety, reliability and performance of mechanical assets across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safety‑focused preventive and breakdown maintenance for mechanical equipment.
• Review and improve corrective tools, procedures and spare parts management.
• Monitor bearing, HSS and wind‑energy component performance and coordinate replacements.
• Visit sites in Bannur and Chitradurga to guide teams during maintenance activities.
• Manage mechanical spares readiness for high‑wind‑speed turbines (HWND).
• Conduct root‑cause analysis (RCA) for mechanical corrective actions.
• Oversee storage and maintenance of stationary components such as gearboxes and generators.
• Track force‑majeure components (blades, gearboxes, main shafts) and support insurance claims.
• Perform random CMS inspections and analysis.
• Develop and deliver site‑specific mechanical training modules.
• Reverse‑engineer special tools required for major breakdowns.
• Inspect blades, review reports and monitor reparations.
• Analyse downtime to improve preventive work schedules.
• Generate ideas to boost availability and production.
• Drive vendor development programmes for mechanical components.
• Coordinate technical issues with the Spain engineering team.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 health, safety and risk standards.
• Develop environmental preservation procedures for major maintenance events.
• Support IMS audits across all wind farms.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical knowledge of wind‑turbine sites.
• Leadership, problem‑solving, teamwork and innovation competencies.
• Ability to work independently without direct reports.
• Accountability for the listed responsibilities.
