Assistant Manager - Maintenance

About the role

Pfizer is seeking an Assistant Manager – Maintenance to lead reliability and maintenance engineering for manufacturing equipment and facility systems. You will ensure high equipment uptime, support product quality, and help accelerate the delivery of medicines worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and reliability engineering for manufacturing equipment and building infrastructure.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities to maintain operational continuity.
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), investigations and CAPA implementation for equipment deviations.
• Develop and manage maintenance strategies (PM/PdM optimization) and equipment reliability programs.
• Contribute to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and improve OEE and asset utilization.
• Provide engineering support for equipment installation, modification, and project execution, including technical specifications and scope of work.
• Support equipment lifecycle management, including commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and de‑commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and quality standards, maintaining documentation and safety assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6‑8 years of experience in a GMP‑regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with tablet compression machines, granulation systems, and packaging equipment.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP, SOPs, and regulatory expectations.
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Basic knowledge of automation systems/process controls (preferred).
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
