Assistant Manager – GST

About the role

The Assistant Manager – GST will support Godrej Consumer Products Limited in ensuring accurate and timely GST compliance across its manufacturing units and regional offices. This role involves filing statutory returns, reconciling GST data, and supporting audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly and annual GST returns (GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B, GSTR‑9, GSTR‑9C) within statutory deadlines.
• Perform monthly GST reconciliation between Inward Register, 2B data, and vendor reports to validate ITC claims.
• Execute three‑way reconciliation for outward supply (Invoice vs E‑Way Bill vs IRN).
• Compute exempt supply reversals, monthly GST liability, and pass related accounting entries.
• Support GST audits by providing registers, vendor reconciliations, invoices, and backup working.
• Maintain GST documentation, registers, and records for refund claims.
• Liaise with manufacturing units and regional offices on GST matters.
• Drive strategic initiatives such as ISD vendor invoice reconciliation (GSTR‑6A) and cross‑charging of common costs.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve GST processes.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Indian GST regulations and filing procedures.
• Experience in GST reconciliation, ITC validation, and audit support.
• Ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Required skills

• GST compliance and return filing (GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B, GSTR‑9, GSTR‑9C).
• GST portal navigation and data entry.
• Three‑way reconciliation (Invoice, E‑Way Bill, IRN).
• ITC claim validation and reversal entries.
