Asset Manager – Wholesale Lending

About the role

The Asset Manager will oversee wholesale lending operations, ensuring processes, risk initiatives and regulatory compliance are effectively managed. The role involves coordinating credit documentation, lending transactions and stakeholder communication within Barclays.

Key responsibilities

• Review and manage credit and legal documentation to support smooth execution of lending transactions.
• Coordinate with clients, legal teams and internal stakeholders to obtain approvals and resolve documentation queries.
• Analyse legal drafts for alignment with business, regulatory and operational requirements.
• Identify and escalate risks, ensuring all processes meet agreed timelines.
• Act as primary contact for stakeholders, providing updates and driving timely deal closure.
• Support day‑to‑day Wholesale Lending initiatives, including processing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.
• Monitor lending operations for efficiency, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
• Develop and implement procedures, controls and performance reports for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong experience in credit documentation and lending operations.
• Good understanding of legal terminology, contracts and documentation review processes.
