About the role

We are looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) sales in the Mumbai market for a leading health insurance provider. The role involves managing multiple distribution channels, building strong partner relationships, and delivering on ambitious growth targets.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the TPD sales strategy across brokers, corporate agents and banks.
  • Engage regularly with channel partners to deepen relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Lead a team of approximately 10 sales professionals, setting targets and monitoring performance.
  • Achieve Gross Written Premium (GWP) goals, with historical targets of INR 17 Mn (FY18) to INR 50 Mn (FY20).
  • Monitor and improve productivity metrics, claim ratio, expense ratio and combined ratio.
  • Design segment‑specific insurance solutions for SMEs and start‑ups.
  • Expand the reach of standardized, cost‑effective products through nationwide channel partners.

Required profile

  • Senior‑level experience in health insurance sales, preferably with TPD products.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive market.
  • Experience managing a sales team of around ten members.
  • Strong analytical ability to interpret market data and financial ratios.
  • Excellent relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
