Area Manager – Operations

About the role

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team on the fulfillment‑center floor in India. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring safety and quality, and delivering on customer promises.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor hourly associates from day one, conducting audits and coaching on the floor.
• Perform extensive data analysis to identify trends, drive Kaizen activities and support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S.
• Participate in leadership review meetings (daily deep dive, site business review) and influence decisions on site improvement parameters.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and on‑time customer delivery metrics.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to implement operational best practices.

Required profile

• Strong sense of ownership and excellent analytical abilities.
• Ability to summarize and communicate important data effectively.
• Willingness to work night shifts, weekends and relocate as business needs dictate.
• Physical capability to stand, walk frequently and access all areas of a noisy, non‑air‑conditioned fulfillment environment.
• Commitment to long‑term career development within Amazon India Operations.
