Application Specialist, Bakery Enzymes

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is hiring an Application Specialist for its bakery enzymes business. The role is based in Gurgaon, India and is hybrid. You will provide technical and operational support to bakery customers, mainly large industrial bakers in India, working closely with the sales team and the global bakery application team.

Key responsibilities

• Support bakery customers on site with technical and operational advice on functional ingredients and bakery enzymes
• Run pilot plant experiments in the application lab, including instrumental and sensory evaluation, and document results in technical reports
• Present data to customers and colleagues, and give technical back-up to the sales force
• Explore new business opportunities and help develop customer projects and internal development projects
• Assist in product development and documentation during commercialization, including formulation, technical documentation, marketing material, post-launch support, invention disclosures and patents

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Bakery Science, Food Science, Food Technology, Food Biotechnology or a related field; comparable education with substantial hands-on baking experience is also welcome
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in product development, application development or a related technical role in a food ingredients organization or the baking industry
• Fluent written and spoken English
• 30-40% travel required

• Customer-facing ability to identify opportunities and articulate value propositions
• Self-starter who manages multiple tasks and works independently and in teams
• Excellent communication, reporting and record-keeping skills
• Experience with bakery enzymes is a significant advantage
