Application Deployment Engineer

About the role

The Application Deployment Engineer will lead manual and hybrid deployments of applications across production and pre‑production environments, ensuring compliance with change management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review, plan, coordinate and execute application deployments in line with approved Change Requests.
• Validate implementation plans, dependencies, prerequisites, monitoring and rollback procedures before deployment.
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, database, platform, business and support teams to ensure deployment readiness.
• Execute deployments of binaries, services, configuration files, certificates, scheduled jobs, middleware, servers, containers and database changes.
• Monitor deployments, validate control points, identify risks and initiate pause, rollback or escalation when required.
• Perform post‑deployment validation of application health, logs, connectivity and alerts, and hand over to L2/L3 and business teams.
• Maintain deployment timelines, evidence, logs, approvals and closure documentation, and provide hyper‑care support.
• Identify repeatable manual activities and recommend automation opportunities while ensuring compliance with security and audit requirements.

Required profile

• 6 to 12 years of hands‑on experience in manual and hybrid application deployments, including CI/CD workflows.
• Strong knowledge of change management, ITIL practices and release governance.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server infrastructure, networking, DNS, load balancers, certificates and file systems.
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes/OpenShift and database script execution, validation and rollback.
