Android Software Engineer

About the role

PhonePe is looking for an Android Software Engineer to join its fast‑growing mobile payments team. You will work on high‑scale consumer applications that serve millions of users daily, contributing to the core Android experience of the PhonePe app.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android features for the PhonePe digital payments platform.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Write clean, testable code and implement unit, instrumentation, and end‑to‑end tests.
• Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and security best practices.
• Help build reusable SDK components and libraries for internal use.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of full‑time experience developing Android applications.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and passion for programming.
• Good understanding of Android system design and architecture.
• Curiosity to explore new paradigms and continuously improve code quality.

Required skills

• Android app development (Java/Kotlin).
• Unit testing and instrumentation testing.
• End‑to‑end testing of Android applications.
• SDK development for Android.
• System design and architectural thinking for mobile platforms.
